&  Co
Mike, "Johnny" and Guy.  How many people get 3 totally unique friends in one?   I met Mike in 1979,   as he was involved with   "Strut"  from  damn
near the beginning.  He was perhaps a co-manager or something like that.  I recall my first impression - serious dude!  He had a motorcycle and I'd
say he was Cool - Charismatic - Smart - Well groomed (lol)  - - - And me?  His chief antagonist, co-pilot, girl tracker, Frisbee partner, peanut buster
parfait with extra everything treat lover and the list goes on  ... and on .. and on ....   Damn it Kevin, just
serve the meal would ya?!    Long after the
rock and roll fame bubble had burst we went on 3 consecutive west coast road trips.    The trips were well mapped out adventures  -  YET,   it   was
definitely a policy to be spontaneous as well (if we saw a place that looked like fun to play some Frisbee, we would).  All in all, totally mind  numbing
to think back upon all the great sights, sounds, tastes and  touches  we  experienced  along the  way.  I'm thinking there was this incredible thunder
&  lightening  display,   as  we  traveled   on   an  empty   (except for those wild rabbits in the headlights and sometimes front bumper)   highway   in
Eastern  Oregon.   We   went   this  way  traveling  to Reno,  afterwards  popping  in Yosemite's back door  -    what a glorious way to enter this awe
inspiring  national  park. Some of the greatest outdoor pees I've  ever taken  happen in this valley.  We  visited  and  got   to  know  family  on  both
sides.   We soaked  up  as much SUN as we could capture along the way  -  we did love to BAKE!   And  if the west coast wasn't enough,  in our mid
twenties or so Mike joined me back on the east coast and we did a road trip for the ages there. Twenty  some  odd years  later  we're back to being
road buddies,  as  we  keep in touch via our cell phones on our morning and sometimes afternoon commutes - "Window" permitting.

The more I went back through my old photos, the
more   I   dug  up  shots  with
Rusty. It's 12:37am
and  my  jaw  is sore from smiling as I think back
upon  the  man.    Larger  than  life  -  the  boomin
voice   and   hearty laugh,   the  crazy  energy  and
the greatest bear hugs known to man.
All about the grooming!
